Peridot (Facet-2L5O Cut-7XV) is a component of the permanent fusion of Seraphinite. She is known as Dottie.
Appearance[]
Dottie has the build of an average era two Peridot. She has moss green semi-tetrahedral hair with tips curled upwards at the sides and back. Her skin is sage green. She wears what appears to be similar to a typical Peridot’s uniform, but with a few extras and a different palette. The collar-bars are walnut brown, with a yellow diamond shape between them. The base of the top is wheat brown, and the bottom of the outfit is apricot orange. The legs of her outfit are dark grey with yellow diamonds on the knees, and the feet are black. The bottom of the ‘leotard’ part has a tan, translucent, frilled fringe on it. She also has a pair of short yellow gloves with thick black cuffs. On her face, she has a yellow, upward-pointing, dart-shaped visor that covers her right eye and her gem, which rests slightly tilted in place of her left eye.
Personality[]
Passionate but insecure, Dottie is on the extreme of emotions and struggles to read social cues, making her have her own unique form of interaction with others. She speaks with occasionally odd intonation, or too loudly by mistake, and is prone to yelling when she’s overwhelmed. She struggles with finding a balance between sarcasm/passive-aggressiveness and directness when she’s trying to fit in with others, often misusing a sarcastic tone, or being too sarcastic. Other times, she gives up trying to involve sarcasm in situations and tries to avoid it, and can get confused by the use of it. Though genuinely caring about people, she can struggle to show it, yelling at them or acting insensitive. She can get very obsessed with a certain thing and struggle to break away from it, tending to hyperfixate on one or a select few things at a time, or tending to jump around too much on what she’s focused on. She gets overwhelmed easily but denies it. It can be easy to tell when she’s overwhelmed, often getting more frantic, flailing, moving repetitively, whining or crying. This doesn’t happen all the time, but you can definitely tell when it does. She reacts on impulse and doesn’t think her actions wholly through. If she’s being quiet and still, it might mean she’s comfortable. She’s also constantly worried about what other people think of her, and isn’t the happiest with herself, and struggles to act independently. Because she’s so emotional and extreme, she is the least stable member of Seraphinite and has had a few incidents of unfusing from stressful situations.
History[]
An Era Two Peridot made on the decline as materials were running out and they were cutting corners. She’s one of the first few Era Twos, and still has a few abilities. She never got any technological advancements. She never gained any sense of pride over the work she did. She was sort of assigned carelessly to missions on both Blue Diamond and Yellow Diamonds commands, though she was primarily for Yellow. While in service to Blue Diamond, she met an Agate who found her mannerisms cute. They became sort-of friends, in the sense that they weren’t really allowed to be friends, so they just kinda watched each other from a distance, occasionally made small chat, and mutually yearned and whatnot. It was kinda similar when it came to Emerald, but she cared a little less about the rules and was much more talkative to the both of them. This caused a lot of animosity towards them, as it was seen as idiotic and distracting behaviour. Emerald upfront told them she had their backs and wouldn’t let anyone’s ‘jealousy’ act in physical capacity to harm them. Seraphinite came about when Dottie idiotically threw her sense aside and interacted very directly with the Agate to try and cheer her up when a failure got the better of her emotions. And if everyone wasn’t already huffy about the Agate showing weakness, they sure were damn offended when a tiny Peridot stepped out of line to interact with her with any sort of intimacy. The general idea is that they immediately decided that that Peridot was acting inappropriately and should be disciplined as such. They pulled the Peridot and the Agate apart and the Peridot was threatened with shattering for the crime of inappropriate behaviour towards a superior Gem and probably poor work performance anyway. The Agate made the split-second decision to be protective of the Peridot, pulling her to safety and declaring that no one was to hurt her. This pretty much just made everyone more upset and was declared conspiracy and treason. They were saved by the impulsive Emerald who held fast to her promise to keep them from harm. Swooping out of nowhere to fuse with the Agate, causing outrage and drawing in an attack from the other gems. Seraphinite was formed when, in the midst of chaos, the Peridot attempted to interfere with a gem who was trying to destabilise the fusion, and the fusion tried to pull the Peridot away to stop her from being destabilised, and she fused with them, from the strength of her passion. Seraphinite easily incapacitated the rest of the opposition, then fled, fearing the consequence of her brash decision.
Abilities[]
As an era two Peridot, Dottie doesn’t possess all of the abilities of most gems, such as summoning a weapon, but does possess the ability to fuse, regenerate, and shapeshift at minor proportions. She possesses few to only one ability beyond this.

Skillset[]
- Technological Aptitude: Dottie shows great skill in interacting, modifying and interfacing with technology.
- Short Size: Dottie’s short size can be advantageous to her in certain situations, as it can allow her to access places others cannot, evade detection, and dodge attacks.

Lazurite[]
Though rarely interacting, when they do interact with Dottie, it's usually with a comedic exasperation. Tired of the action that's going on, still finding it funny.
Leuco Sapphire[]
Leuco Sapphire often offers guidance to Dottie, and although Dottie can be huffy about it, she’s more willing to listen to someone who is only slightly taller than her.
Cat's-Eye Chrysoberyl[]
Despite caring about Dottie and showing concern when something happens to her, she also directly states that Dottie’s screeching and pitch hurt her ears and that she is very sensitive.
Rhodochrosite[]
Alpha[]
Alpha is shown to act very motherly towards Dottie, but not much interaction is seen between them otherwise.
Omega[]
Dottie despises Omega, because Omega plays into her insecurity and torments her, as well as causes her suffering by separating her from her fusionmates.
Chocolate Tahitian Pearl[]
Chocolate Tahitian Pearl is almost scared of Dottie after one too many incident of being hissed and jumped at, but Tahi can't help but find Dottie cute when she (loudly) apologises every time she scares her. Dottie finds Tahi's brand of humour an absolute riot.
Bumblebee Jasper[]
Dottie and Bumblebee are so casual it's awkward. Dottie could be in the middle of yelling at or fighting with someone, and if Bumblebee saw her, her instinct would probably be to say hi, Dottie! and Dottie's instinct in response would be to drop whatever she's doing- though keeping whatever tone of voice she has consistent- and say hi back. They share a love of terrible, terrible humour, and even though Dottie complains that Bumblebee is way too tall, she shows concern for her wellbeing and enjoyment of her presence.
Lepidolite[]
Lepidolite, like most everyone, legitimately cares about Dottie. She appreciates that Dottie and herself are both technologically apt, and likes talking about technological-based things with her. They're both kinda loud, though, and Lepidolite still chastises Dottie for childishness.
Moss Agate[]
Moss Agate and Dottie had yearned for each other for many, many centuries. They are very much in love and would do practically anything for each other. Mossie is very protective of Dottie, occasionally to the point of being patronising.
Elle[]
Elle adores Dottie, and Dottie admires Elle. Just as madly in love with each other as they are with Moss Agate, and both are protective of each other in several ways.
